Progression by Design

I provide exclusive coaching and mentorship for new and established managers and leaders, generally working in the software and technology industries. The focus is on setting goals and a long term (3-5 years) trajectory for personal progression and career development. I limit this to four concurrent candidates in any year, and the duration can be anywhere from three to twelve months, depending on each person’s availability.

Several options are available, and costs vary accordingly. I am also open to coaching for free if we agree on terms based on our initial discussion and your financial circumstances.


The development program I run is lightweight and loosely tailored to your individual needs. We will identify your strengths and weaknesses whilst you develop a goal-driven plan to achieve your career or other specific expectations. Central to this process is a detailed introspection and comparison against perceptions of you from your network and broader professional context.

My intake is ad hoc and on a minimal basis to ensure I can dedicate the appropriate amount of time to each participant.

Here are some of the modules covered in the programme:

  • Introspection and setting your context
  • Identifying and embedding your professional persona
  • Tuning perceptions via 360 feedback
  • Balancing your strengths and weaknesses
  • Drafting your goals and supporting development plan
  • CV and biography development

The programme spans a minimum of 3 months with at least monthly calls/meetings to review progress. Upon completion, regular checkpoints will help to assess progress against your plan and cover any follow on topics.
